AI systems can analyse large amounts of information quickly, but important workplace decisions still require human judgement.
AI may help identify patterns or provide recommendations, but it cannot fully understand:
- ethics,
- emotions,
- workplace relationships,
- or complex human situations.
Decisions involving people, fairness, wellbeing, or organisational values should never rely entirely on technology.
Human oversight remains especially important in areas such as:
- recruitment,
- performance management,
- disciplinary processes,
- and learner assessment.
Technology can support decision-making, but accountability still belongs to people.
Discussion Point
