QCTO Advanced Occupational Certificate: Learning and Development Professional

The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to function as a Learning and Development Professional. A Learning and Development Professional communicates, plans, designs, develops, manages, leads teams, guides best practices for diverse learning and development practices and quality assurance to ensure all-inclusive learning in compliance with established principles in line with Education, Training and Development Practices (ETDP) legal, regulatory and policy frameworks including standards and guidelines.
Exit Level Outcomes:
- Lead and manage a team to enhance a positive and constructive quality culture and render a professional quality assurance service.
- Evaluate and apply project management techniques in learning and development interventions.
- Conduct Research and advise an organisation regarding occupational or vocational education, training, and development.
- Evaluate and manage internal and external moderation and/or verification of assessments in an occupational or vocational context.
- Support, guide and coach in an occupational or vocational education, training, and development environment.
Entry Requirements:
- Occupational Certificate: Training and Development Practitioner, NQF Level 5, or
- Human Resources Development or Human Resources Management, NQF Level 5, with a minimum of 3 years assessed work experience in the Learning and Development field.

12–36 months

Blended learning (Online/Live Interactive; eLearning/Self-study; or Face-to-Face Training)
Tools Needed:
Laptop, Mobile phone, or Tablet, personal stationery, and stable internet connection. All learning material is available on the eLearning platform.
Qualification Assessment:
The Institution will conduct internal assessments by means of assessment activities and signed off work experience log sheets. Upon successful completion of all modules, the Institution provides a statement of results to the candidate and QCTO, as part of the candidate’s application to complete the External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA) conducted by the QCTO.
